Antica Farmacista

From 2013 to 2025, every graphic decision at Antica Farmacista ran through me. Seven recent seasons from a much larger archive.

The Art of Ambiance

From 2013 to 2025, I was the sole art director at Antica Farmacista, working alongside co-founder and creative director Shelley Callaghan. Together we developed fragrances and built campaigns. Every graphic expression ran through me: product and packaging design, campaign imagery, ecommerce, retail displays, trade, and print.

During that time, the work reached Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Beverly Hills Hotel, and Hotel Bel-Air. I remained through the company’s sale to private equity and left when Shelley did.

The seven seasons that follow come from the final four years. The full archive spans more than a decade.

Desert Sage

Desert Sage was Antica Farmacista’s first major launch after the pandemic. Shelley and I developed the fragrance and name, then built the campaign in Palm Springs around the quiet of the desert.

Shelley photographed the campaign. I created the moodboards, label, and packaging; co-styled the shoot; edited and color-graded the imagery; and designed the catalog.

A Holiday Escape

A Holiday Escape moved the holidays to Palm Springs. Shelley and I built the campaign around the relaunch of Prosecco and Black & White Spruce: a white Christmas tree at the pool, champagne, disco balls, and a vintage Cadillac.

I designed the gift packaging in gold and silver foil on flocked velvet, then carried the campaign through the catalog and every seasonal asset.

Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz began with Shelley’s idea for a fragrance made for long afternoons by the pool. We built the campaign in turquoise water, orange liquid, black-and-white stripes, cocktails, and jewelry.

I redesigned the label around a gold-foil sun-ray border inspired by vintage liquor bottles, then designed the packaging and catalog, co-styled the shoot, and retouched the final imagery.

Elderflower

Elderflower began in the historic glasshouse at Volunteer Park. I built the campaign language by hand from torn magazines and vintage botanical imagery, then carried that collage system through the label, packaging, catalog, and launch.

Shelley’s photographs placed the product in stained-glass light, moss, cut flowers, wild blueberries, and crystal. The visible hand of the collage remained part of the finished work.

Liquid Velvet

Liquid Velvet gave me the opportunity to redesign a label system I had worked with for years. I led with the scent name, removed the old midline, and created a stronger hierarchy that held from a 100ml bottle to a gift set.

I helped shape the fragrance and product line, then designed the labels, packaging, and catalog and styled the campaign in cut crystal, brass, zebra hide, lilies, blackberries, and candlelight.

Perfume Poolside

Perfume Poolside took the full fine-fragrance collection outside: sprays, minis, and rollerballs on gold boxes and mirrored trays at the water’s edge.

I art directed and styled the series like a jewelry shoot, using hard sun, true color, and the open field of the pool to keep the product at the center of every frame.

Warm White

Warm White was the final project I led at Antica. I designed the label and packaging and chose an opaque white bottle for the diffuser, giving the line a quieter and more sculptural presence than the house standard.

The scent’s notes—toasted rice, steamed milk, and cashmere—became bath foam, peonies, soft knits, and warm stone. The launch also introduced Cozy Friend, Antica’s first pet-care line.

A Decade of Devotion.

Season after season, Shelley and I developed fragrances, built campaigns, and designed every detail from a place of passion and enthusiasm. As sole art director, I oversaw every visual expression, from product and packaging to campaign imagery, ecommerce, retail, trade, and print. That partnership was the magic of Antica.
